Having a website that’s at the top of the search results for towing business owners is extremely important, but there’s something that’s even more important than your website showing up at the top of the organic rankings. The single most important thing that will affect your business more than anything else is having an optimized map listing that is showing up for every keyword your best customers are searching for. In this article, we’ll give you some high level tips that you can implement into your Google my business listing that will surely help you get more customers flowing into your business.
The first thing you’ll want to do is sign in to your Google My Business listing and go to your photos. You’re going to want to do a little research to find out how many pictures your top competitor has. A good way to do this is by going into a search engine and typing in, “towing + city”. Click on the first map listing that shows up in the results and dig around a little to see how many pictures they have and also how many reviews they have. Ideally, you’re going to want to beat them out on whatever they have. We understand reviews are tough to get but if you start offering your customers a discount to leave you a review on the spot you can start to rack up some solid reviews in a hurry. Now that you know how many photos they have, go back to your Google My Business photos and upload twice as many as your top competitor has. Just like in the article where we tell you how to optimize your website, you’ll also want to save the pictures to your computer as keywords before uploading them into Google.
Once your map listing is decked out with tons of great pictures, you’re going to want to fill out your “info” section as much as possible. Once again, you’ll want to use as many keywords as you can like towing, towing companies, tow truck service, towing services, etc… Google and the other main search engines (Bing, Yahoo, etc…) read every piece of information they can about your website and map listing so it’s important to indicate to them what your properties are about in every area you possibly can.
Once your map listing has great photos and a detailed description added to it, the next thing to do is put your business name, address, and phone number on as many directories as possible. These directory listings are like the back links coming into your website. They indicate to the search engines that other credible web properties outside of your own are talking about your which makes you popular. After all, like we said earlier, the search engines are like a popularity contest and you want to have as many “cool” friends talking about your as possible. If you apply the strategies discussed in this article, you will be well on your way into growing your business and getting new customers everyday.
